Curbside Conference

by Marissa Volk

Curbside Conference, a response to the rapid development and gentrification happening in Gainesville, is an initiative to start local dialogue by surveying two groups: residents living within Porters Community (historically black neighborhood vulnerable to gentrification) and residents/students living in other places. Pre-stamped postcards with questions regarding equitable development would be delivered to Porters residents; custom coffee sleeves with information about Porters Community would be used at local cafes to educate individuals unaware of gentrification.
